ADRA is an international humanitarian organization operating in over 120 countries all around the world. Since 1956 ADRA has not only been helping while providing humanitarian assistance both in home countries as well as abroad, but also supporting long-term development programs that aid to assist vulnerable groups to take the responsibilities over their lives.
ADRA Czech Republic was founded in 1992. During two decades of its existence ADRA has implemented dozen of humanitarian and development projects in Europe, Africa, Asia as well as e.g. in Haiti. Activities in the Czech Republic include development education in schools, regional volunteer centers to help people with disabilities and the elderly and assist people affected by emergencies.

Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology

Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology was founded in the 16th century as the first institution of Palacky University in Olomouc. There are 1281 students studying today at the faculty. Since the year 2003, the faculty has offered a Bachelor study Humanitarian and Social Studies focused on current social and humanitarian issues in the Czech Republic and abroad. Lessons in this study field realizes in cooperation with CARITAS- social college in Olomouc. In 2010 master's studies of International Humanitarian and Social Studies were opened. Students and graduates of both fields of study exert their experience and knowledge in organizations working in countries affected by humanitarian or protracted crisis. This study emphasizes development of students' managerial skills and competencies for community work in various cultural conditions.

People in Need

People in Need (PIN) is a Czech organization that provides relief aid and development assistance, while working to defend human rights and democratic freedom. At home, People in Need administer social integration programs in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and provides informative and educational activities. PIN is one of the largest organizations of its kind in post-communist Europe, and has administered projects in thirty-seven countries over the past fourteen years.


FoRS - Czech Forum for Development Co-operation - is a platform of Czech non-governmental non-profit organizations (NGOs) and other non-profit subjects, involved in development cooperation, development education and humanitarian assistance. Currently, FoRS represents 38 member organizations and 22 observers working in more than 60 countries worldwide. Among them are NGOs, foundations, international organizations, universities and others.

Caritas Czech Republic

Caritas Czech Republic provides humanitarian aid and development cooperation in counties affected by natural disasters or war conflicts. It provides assistance to those most in need, regardless of their race, nationality or religion. Some of the countries we currently work with are for example Chechnya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Haiti Indonesia, Mongolia, Moldova or Georgia. Livelihood support, DRR, education and improving the knowledge and skills of our local partners are some of our long-term priorities. Caritas Czech Republic is a member of the Caritas Internationalis network, an association of 162 national caritas organizations and a member of the Caritas Europa. Thanks to these memberships, Caritas Czech Republic has partners in many countries and is able to provide fast and effective relief with minimal side costs.

Caritas Prague

Caritas Prague has been devoted to humanitarian and development aid abroad since 1993. Among the priority issues of our aid abroad are traditionally education, health care and prevention and also support communities in their development. In the field of humanitarian aid abroad we coordinate our intervention with the caritas network in the world – either through our partner organizations in the target country or within the Caritas Czech Republic. The main activity of the Caritas Prague in Czech Republic is helping the needy in the Archdiocese of Prague – social care and counseling for people with disabilities, women, children and men at risk of violence, migrants, homeless people and others.

Médecins Sans Frontières

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, exclusion from healthcare and natural disasters. MSF offers assistance to people based on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. When MSF witnesses serious acts of violence, neglected crises, or obstructions to its activities, the organization may speak out about this.
